Somewhere between thinking of writing a sitcom and a forgotten meme in a corner of the internet, Yanik learned to treat everyday life like it deserves a close-up. Yanik got his start creating music videos with his friends, which went on to collect millions of views in the process. Then he shifted into comedy. The work earned nominations for shots New Director of the Year and the Young Director Award in Cannes. 

Since then, he’s built a style around the things most people would normally cut: a silence that lingers, small talk that unravels, someone explaining something slightly too seriously. His humor is dry. Oddly specific. Composed just wide enough to let the awkwardness settle.
